Chris grew up in the western suburbs of Illinois, where he participated in recreational sports from an early age (golf, soccer, hockey) and continued playing competitive hockey through his high school years. After a minor knee surgery kept him off the ice during his freshmen year at DePaul University, Chris elected to “focus on his studies” instead of returning to competitive hockey.
Upon graduation, Chris decided to end his 4-year hiatus from fitness and began participating in various obstacle course races. It was while training for OCR that Chris first stumbled upon CrossFit. Since that time, Chris has traded in his running shoes for weightlifting shoes, and has spent the past 2 years as a dedicated Olympic weightlifter.
As a coach, Chris has developed a background in gymnastics and Olympic weightlifting. He is passionate about helping athletes improve their movement to optimize their performance and longevity as an athlete. While you can still catch him coaching CrossFit classes, his primary focus is on Sunday morning Olympic weightlifting classes and movement-intensive personal training sessions.
Outside of the gym, Chris works for Aon Hewitt as an Executive Compensation Consultant. On the rare occasions he isn’t at his desk, or at the gym, you can find him under the hood of his car or at the gun range.
