Having a twin brother, Kori grew up with competitive side. Although most of her life was dedicated to competing and performing with dance, she has been hitting the gym since she was 16. When she graduated from college and no longer was on a dance team, she needed something to fill that void. She yearned for something physically challenging, yet had a strong sense of community. It was 2013, when her husband suggested she try CrossFit. She loved how the workouts were differentiated to fit the needs of each individual athlete. The PRs (personal records) became addictive and within her first 2 months, Kori started competing at local CrossFit competitions. Needless to say, she was hooked. She bounced around a few different boxes due to job changes, but was lucky to find RPE less than a mile from her work.
Kori has been teaching full-day kindergarten in Deerfield for the past 3 years and thoroughly enjoys being a part of the community and working with children.
When the coaches at RPE discussed the opportunity for Kori to coach the Rally Kids’ classes, she was overjoyed. The combination of working with children and a passion for Crossfit seemed like the perfect fit. She enjoys teaching her kindergartners and Rally Kids the importance of perseverance and the value of hard work. Although these concepts may appear intimidating, Kori strives to promote these values through movement, play, teamwork, and FUN!
